It's a new Monday, and we're one week closer to winter. For this week's edition of No Money Mondays, we're heading to the warm shores of Spain, specifically the island of Mallorca. We will be exploring Palma de Mallorca Airport (LEPA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, created by EuroScene.
Palma de Mallorca Airport opened in 1960, and just weeks after its inauguration, plans were already in place for expansion. Within a year, work began on enlarging both the runway and taxiway. By 1965, a new terminal was completed, reflecting the rapid growth in passenger numbers. Nine years later, in 1974, a second runway and an additional terminal were finished. In 1997, yet another terminal was built, which is now the central terminal in use today. Currently, the airport handles over 31 million passengers each year. It serves as a focus city for airlines such as Air Europa, easyJet Europe, Eurowings Europe, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, and Vueling, while also accommodating many other airlines. This extensive service offers flights to various destinations, including London, Amsterdam, Oslo, and many more.
The EuroScenery scenery package includes custom 3D models, custom interiors, taxiway lighting, a custom GSX profile (separate download), and much more.
The freeware version of Palma de Mallorca Airport can be downloaded from flightsim.to. If you're yearning for summer instead of the approaching winter, consider visiting Mallorca!
