After months of anticipation from the community, FlightFactor has released a much-awaited open beta for their A350, taking it to version 1.6.8.

The update is free of charge for all previous owners but did see a rise in the price of the aircraft by approximately $15, taking the new price to $64.95.

The update, originally planned for release in April, can be found along with a full changelog in a thread on the X-Plane.org Forums. To install, simply run the X-Updater for the A350 and tick the beta checkbox.

This update has been made with FlightFactor cooperating with ToLiss, who primarily helped them with the systems for the new MCDU features.

In the forum post, a full changelog was provided, which is as follows:

  • Added SID/STAR support
  • Added Wind and other pages to MCDU
  • Added alternative flight plan
  • Fully new cockpit textures
  • Input improvements (Thrustmaster support)
  • Fix ground service objects drawing in X-Plane 11.50 (Vulkan)
  • New spill lights
  • Added particles
  • Fixed fuel consumption
  • Added 8.33 radio
  • Full Vulkan Support
  • Fixed flap level issue
  • Fixed the fuel temperature
  • Added pause on TOD
  • Change the empty weight in the OIS
  • Fixed the flight time clock behaviour

Since this release is a beta, bugs are to be expected, no release date has been indicated so far for the full, non-beta release.
