Aerosoft Updates Dortmund XP Focussing Largely on Seasonal Effects
DortmundXP, rendered by simulation-based giant Aerosoft, has been updated to version1.4.0.
The update exchanges seasonal effects provided by TerraMaxx and JSGME in favour of those from Scenery Animation Manager (SAM), including SAM Colors support, and adds further effects in differing ways.
According to a post in the news section of their website, the following changes have been made to the scenery:
- Removed TerraMaxx support
- Removed JSGME support
- Added SAM Seasons support
- Added SAM Colors support (one click vegetation color optimization for TerraFlora, SFD Global, X-Europe 4 and Ortho4xp)
- Added next generation vegetation (new shading, higher density)
- Updated all water bodies, removed beaches inside Dortmund ortho area
- Added wet surface effects
- Added roads around EDLW and Hengsen-Opherdicke airfield
- Integrated city layers into one single layer
- Added snow piles at EDLW
- Fixed missing SAM marshaller backup
The updated scenery is available for purchase through Aerosoft, the Threshold Store, x-plane.org store, and other resellers of Aerosoft scenery.
Additionally, Aerosoft recently announced the German islands of Baltrum in East Frisia to be coming to X-Plane 11. Further details are available here.
Their rendition of Manchester Airport (EGCC) is free for a limited time too, up to the 13th April.
Not only that, but Stairport's SAM made news today with the introduction of a new 'Suite' client, available for the three major operating systems, that allows SAM components to be installed, updated, and uninstalled with ease.
