Departure Designs Announces Oakland Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Taking to their Facebook page, Departure designs have announced that Oakland International Airport (KOAK) will be coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well, Oakland and Indianapolis are planned to be receiving updates, with screenshots “coming soon” according to the developer.

Situated 10 miles south of downtown Oakland, KOAK serves as one of the largest cargo hubs in the United States and a major airport for FedEx Express and Southwest. The airport sits parallel to San Francisco International Airport (KSFO) and routinely sees traffic from most of the US’s biggest domestic airlines such as JetBlue and Allegiant. The field is suited with four runways, with the biggest one being 10,000 feet in length, the airport allows all aircraft types to be flown into.

KOAK for Microsoft Flight Simulator will be free for anyone who owns the scenery on X-Plane 11. As well, all Departure Design’s customers will be subject to a discount on the scenery upon its release.

No further information was provided by the developer and no potential release date or pricing information was revealed. Furthermore, no screenshots of KOAK in Microsoft Flight Simulator were shown in the announcement.
