VATSIM Finalised CTP Eastbound Details

One month from today, VATSIM will be hosting their busy bi-annual Cross the Pond event. We will be seeing Eastbound traffic (North America to Europe) Saturday, October 30th. With over 800 pilots with 50 routes and 200 controllers with 12 hours of ATC coverage, the Westbound event that occurred in April went off without a hitch.

This fall event organizers will be using the same lottery system that was introduced in the 2020 CTP events. The system allows for you as the pilot to choose three different departure and take-off options as well as two options for time. The organizers of the event at VATSIM will have the final say on your booking. 

The booking section should look similar to the screen below:

Recently CTP announced their “departure and arrival fields for 2021 Eastbound.” The selected airfields were chosen after a vote by all members of VATSIM. The announced airfields are:

Departing:

KBOS Boston Logan International Airport

KORD Chicago O'Hare International Airport

KATL Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta

KJFK John F. Kennedy Airport

KMIA Miami International Airport

CYYZ Toronto Pearson

KIAD Washington Dulles International Airport

Arriving:

EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

LEBL Barcelona

EDDB Berlin Brandenburg

EIDW Dublin

EFHK Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

EGLL London Heathrow

LFPG Paris Charles De Gaulle

LOWW Vienna International Airport

In the trans-Atlantic flight, they will be involving five Oceanic FIRs as well as staffing at all involved airports. Specialists on oceanic procedures will be brought on to explain in-depth procedures to the well-educated volunteer controllers.
