Microsoft Flight Simulator October 1st Development Update
The latest Microsoft Flight Simulator development update was small, though the items discussed within it were the complete opposite.
Virtual Reality, a new Partnership Series update, and a new developer Q&A were the main parts to this update which comes a few days after the release of World Update I: Japan in patch 1.9.3.0.
A closed beta dedicated for VR testers is scheduled to be available soon and is to be split into two distinct phases, according to another article linked to in the post.
The first is only for users with a Windows Mixed Reality HMD headset before additional headsets will be a part of the beta later on.
Those interested must own the simulator, be a registered Insider, have submitted their DxDiag file, agreed to an NDA, and meet the minimum specification requirements.
Of particular note here is that the minimum GPU must be a GTX 1080 or equivalent.
- OS: Windows 10 (November 2019 Update – 1909)
- DirectX: DirectX 11
- CPU: Intel i5-4460 or Ryzen 3 1200
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 or equivalent
- VRAM: 8 GB
- RAM: 16 GB
- HDD: 150 GB
- Bandwidth: 5 Mbps
The closed beta will operate similarly to how it was run prior to the launch of MSFS. More details available to read here.
As announced last week, Gaya Simulations is this week’s Partnership Series focal point with a narrated video of their contribution to MSFS, available to view below.
Additionally, another episode was released in their Around the World series, this time turning their attention to Europe.
An assortment of countries and territories were featured including Gibraltar, Switzerland, Romania, and the Netherlands.
Finally, there was another overview of activity in the in-game Marketplace with new products from Drzewiecki Design and Orbx.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available to follow on Facebook, Twitter and Discord.
