Honeycomb Aeronautical Explains Shortages on their Products
Honeycomb Aeronautical, an extremely popular hardware manufacturer in the flight sim community who are known for their products such as the Alpha Flight Controls and Brave Throttle Quadrant has taken to their Facebook page to provide an update on those two products.
Firstly, the manufacturer stated “we want to apologize to the many of you who still haven’t been able to purchase our products due to lack of inventory. We are producing at max capacity but are facing several problems which are impacting availability”
There are several problems that are affecting the production of these products, with Honeycomb blaming two major issues. The first issue is that “the whole electronics industry is facing severe component shortages.” It was also stated that they “originally had a backup inventory of those long lead time components but that has been depleted as well which means that our production schedule is dependent on when we get replenishments from our suppliers.”
Secondly, it was stated that “there is an extreme shortage of container availability from Asia which means that we sometimes have to wait several weeks for availability to ship products to our resellers.”
They also allocated some of their inventory to “ship directly to customers from Hong Kong and only charge 30% of the actual FedEx cost to our customers.” Although those products are “sold out almost as quickly as we make them available in our shop.”
Lastly, Honeycomb provided some comforting news by stating “shipments are on their way to our resellers, and we will have more units available to purchase very soon.”
Honeycomb Aeronautical ended the announcement by stating that they “are truly thankful for your continued support and hope you continue to fly with us.”
Last week they also teased dust covers for their Alpha and Bravo products, with them asking consumers whether they'd be interested in them or not for a price of $14.99.
