Preview: KRAL by RD Studios
Peter (Susu896) of RD Studios and creator of the very successful KHAF (Half Moon Bay) has today released more screenshots of his upcoming scenery, KRAL (Riverside Municipal). After a short break over Christmas, it appears he is back into it with another progress report on the forums.
Founded in the 1950's, Riverside Muni has had only one airline destination in recent years, with direct flights to KIFP (Laughlin/Bullhead Int'l, AZ) ending in 2007. KRAL has 21 hangers on site, with more space outdoors.
Replying to an enquiry about when it would be released, Peter gave a full update on progress.
Hey, thanks :)
You are not the only one who is asking me this question, and I wasn't as active as usual on the forums, so I think it's a good idea to take some time and give more detailed answer this time hope you'll appreciate it :)
After KHAF came out, I felt invicible... and I was highly optimistic, so when I looked at KRAL I was like: 'Yeah, sure, it should be done before the end of they year'. Well...
Funny thing is, I'm working with the same pace as I did with Half Moon Bay. What I did underestimate however, that this airport is not only 3x as big as KHAF, but in the meantime I've also started upping my game, and spending more-and-more time with each object as I did before. Combine it with the fact that there is MUCH more stuff on this airport (KHAF had a main building, and 5 hangars - KRAL has a 3 main buildings (all of them more complex than the terminal at KHAF, 21 big hangars (all different and unique in their own way), countless small hangars, tons and tons of clutter objects, a large industrial area around the airport... you get the idea, how monumental this effort is :) Most people (including myself) tend to underestimate how much does this can take. I have included some shots here (some of them new, some of them older) to illustrate:
You can see the full post here.
Not mentioned in his update, is that KRAL will come with an object pack for downtown Los Angeles FREE!
