Laminar Research has released an early public beta for X-Plane 12.06. Users can expect a long list of bug fixes including fixes for users experiencing CTD crashes when landing at non towered airports and fixes to the Vulkan graphics API. The update also comes with a short list of known bugs including abnormal cloud shapes while using real world weather; Laminar has stated they aim to fix this in version 12.06b2.

Some of the more noticable bug fixes in the new beta include:

  • XPD-14240 – Rain when there really should not be any.
  • XPD-14107 – “Cancel current ATC services” message does not fit in ATC box.
  • XPD-13767 – Crash when filing IFR plan with a regional controller with a departure airport which has no radio facilities.
  • XPD-13938 – C172: Stall horn plays with the battery off.
  • XPD-14069 – A330 unable to engage second AP during ILS approach.
  • XPD-13975 – Pyramid clouds appearing randomly.
  • XPD-14118 – 737 throttle lever 1 not responding to autothrottle .

The new beta comes just 12 weeks after the last update which focused mainly on fixes for the Laminar Research A330.
