Microsoft Flight Simulator 23rd April Update: Details on Alpha Build 1.3 & More
The latest update on Microsoft Flight Simulator, posted yesterday to the usual location of their website, touched on a variety of topics ranging from the next Alpha build to the latest feedback snapshot.
The post opened up with confirmation that users can, up until Sunday, upload a new DXDiag file to the Insider area. The DXDiag is a computer program that automatically generates hardware information that can be used by the Microsoft team.
Further to this, the Partnership Series will be released along with Feature Discovery Series Episode 8 (IFR) will be released next month, although the two have been postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Microsoft reiterated a machine specifications chart showing the hardware requirements needed to run the simulator, from minimum to ideal. Further details are available to read in Tuesday's post.
The next topic covered was that of the Alpha build. It was only last week when the A320neo was released in version 1.2.10, but Microsoft is looking to add another big jetliner to the aircraft lineup: the Boeing 747.
"The team is currently wrapping up final testing on the upcoming Alpha 1.3.X.X build," said Microsoft. "Among the many content updates and bug fixes included in this build, we are excited to release the Boeing 747 for community testing. Similar to the Airbus A320, we will provide the community detailed build notes upon release."
This update is expected within a fortnight, with further Alpha invites to be made available upon the release of 1.3.
An updated feedback snapshot was also released, as displayed below:
The snapshot erases issues from a previous snapshot and replaces it with new issues, including the A320 which was released in 1.2.10 with 49 known issues (alongside other issues and release notes). Other than answering the minimum specifications in the top questions section, the remainder is unchanged.
As per usual, the next update is to be released on Thursday next week.
