Mad Flight Studio Details SP-30 V2
Details of a major update to Flight Flight Studio's Spectr SP-30 have emerged today.
Some insights into the upcoming update have been slowly trickling through up to today in their SP-30 Discord server.
Some of the major items now confirmed by Markus Kirichenko include SASL 3 compatibility, LibRain, and improved needle gauge behaviour.
He said V2 is in progress, and provided a list of changes:
- Full [conversion] to sasl-3 and adaptation for X-Plane 12
- LibRain installed (not works with VR yet, so we have to leave [alternative] rain effect as an option)
- Fixed door's vent opacity
- Fixed gear behavior and damaging in some custom mesh sceneries
- Improved engine temperature behavior
- Corrected flight dynamic according X-Plane's dynamic updates
- Improved gauge's needles behavior (see the video with altimeter's needle)
That video is available to watch below, which demonstrates how the movement speed of the needle affects its stopping motion.
It is speculative as to why Kirichenko not only mentioned X-Plane 12 in the list today, but around ten days ago also.
This may of course be X-Plane 11.50 and Vulkan, but as X-Plane 11 approaches three years of age, questions about the next iteration of the simulator are now on the horizon.
Furthermore, Kirichenko said that there is still a few things left to do, but once complete, V2 will be available.
It was confirmed the update is to be free for existing users of the aircraft.
The SP-30 is available to purchase from the Threshold Store for US $37.95, or x-plane.org for US $39.95.
Threshold's review of the aircraft is available to read on our website.
Mad Flight Studio continues to work on an Antonov An-26, with the latest set of previews published in October last year.
