Another week, another development update from the Microsoft Flight Simulator team, who this week have turned much more towards the community in terms of content - with new community livestreams planned and more screenshots showcased.

The post begins with a short look to the future - "Wow, is it December already? As we all prepare to close out the final chapter of 2020, surely a year for the history books, we look back at the last year and how far we have come and look forward to what the future holds."

"A future filled with VR, Xbox, the ability to replay your favorite moments among many other additions. In the meantime, the team is nose down, preparing for the final update of the year."

Another edition of the development roadmap has been shared, with the events of February 2021 becoming more clear now. In that month, we can expect weekly feedback snapshots and SDK updates, alongside two partnership announcements, a feature discovery series episode and a new simulator update.

In terms of the SDK, another status update has been given - essentially, work continues on both visual effects system performance and the editor tool which will go along with it has now reached a basic state.

The scenery editor tool will see the addition of heightmaps in a forthcoming update. 'Object grouping' for the scenery editor is now work-in-progress.

The three current 'Editor' tools are also seeing work behind-the-scenes to improve stability and the team thanks the community for continuing to provide feedback to improve the Project, Scenery and Aircraft Editors.
