Positive Control Network has shared a video of POSCON in action within the X-Plane 11 flight simulator. The short preview demonstrates the audio quality that can be expected in the real world between two pilots, then through a single, somewhat noisy transmission:

POSCON is an upcoming multiplayer online network for multiple flight simulator platforms. Free and aimed at an audience seeking a realistic and error-based training system, POSCON will have many features, including:

  • Ghost mode - You can see and hear activity on the network, but others cannot see or hear you
  • Member ranking system - The system can track the most active member(s), the best pilots or controllers, and more
  • Realistic voice communications - High Frequency (HF), Very high Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radios will all be supported, using a modern voice codec

For further features and to be a part of the initial release, you can check out POSCON's website here. Stay updated on POSCON's progress through their Facebook page.
