Stairport has introduced the idea of bringing all parts of Scenery Animation Manager (SAM) together in one place, through a brand-new client named the SAM Suite.

The concept behind the application allows users to install and update all SAM-related products, such as the SAM Base Plugin or World Jetways.

Available for Windows, Mac and Linux, the client connects with the developer's servers, allowing users to grab the latest files without having to manually install their content.

"We also updated the base plugin to version 2.0.5 which is only available through SAM Suite," Stairport told Threshold. "The only change is that we included a modified version of the free AutoGate plugin which will install itself automatically so the user doesn't have to bother with it. Currently SAM will show AutoGate compatible jetways on the AOS aircraft page only but there will be more integrated features in the future.

"Additionally there is a new extension available (again through Suite only): DeveloperPack. It will be installed into the custom scenery directory to enable scenery developers to use WorldEditor to place SAM objects easily. We will extend it with source files for object modifications in the future."

Further to this, Stairport highlighted to us that single SAM download files on multiple forums are now legacy versions, and will be removed once SAM Suite is believed to be stable.

The suite is available for download at the x-plane.org forum.

Stairport has also been collaborating with Captain7 to help bring Nürnberg to X-Plane 11, with the latest previews having been published last week.
