Teikof Studio Releases La Nubia Airport for MSFS

Teikof Studio has recently released La Nubia Airport (SKMZ) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, serving the city of Manizales in Colombia with a yearly average of 200,000 passengers.

The airport was built on a former dairy farm in 1956, whose name was also “La Nubia.” The original runway was only 800 meters long, initially served by Aero Caldas and Aerolineas Centrales de Colombia.

The short runway quickly became an issue, with the expansion approval coming in 1978, lengthening the runway from 800 meters to 1,480. Construction work only started in 1982.

Despite the length not longer being a limitation that could prevent jetliners from operating there, there’s a weight restriction (13,000 kg), which only makes it compatible with small regional aircraft.

The limitations go further than that: aircraft can’t land on runway 28 or take off from runway ten for safety reasons (and an urban area). It also doesn’t have many aids such as ILS, with most approaches being entirely visual and the weather dictating when the airport operates.

EasyFly serves it with flights to Bogotá, Cartagena, and Medellín.

The scenery features an accurate rendition of the airport, with high-quality textures and models, animated objects, custom ground markings with wear and tear, a high-fidelity terminal representation, and more.

It’s available on SimMarket for roughly $13.08, requiring at least 393.68 MB of free hard disk space to install.
