Overview

The TFDi Design MD-11 is an aircraft that utilises real-life measurements and photos to create an immersive and realistic flight experience. Key features of this intricate design include 4K textures, custom animations, individual spoiler panels, and aileron droop, as well as physically accurate cockpit mechanisms. The attention to detail given to the cockpit and cabin models aims to bring this majestic tri-jet aircraft to life.

Cabin and Cockpit

In addition to the high-quality cockpit, a highly detailed passenger cabin has been crafted to enhance the realism. These details are evident in everything from the layout and design of the seats to the overhead compartments and cabin lighting, providing a lifelike environment for the passengers.

Systems

The aircraft boasts an advanced flight management system (FMS) simulation that includes SID, STAR, and airway support, performance management, custom waypoints, and an updatable database for comprehensive flight planning. Moreover, it features a fully simulated autoflight system (AFS) for enhanced guidance during both FMS-managed and pilot-managed flights. Other onboard systems that have been extensively replicated encompass the electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and fuel systems.

Displays

The aircraft's displays, from the display computer to the CRT, have been meticulously designed to replicate the behavior of the aircraft, including the CRT startup process and the shuffling of screens as their respective DEU provides output.

Extending Simulation: Customization Options

The TFDi Design MD-11 goes beyond just offering a standard simulation experience. Users have the ability to customize their aircraft to their liking. This includes choosing between PW (Pratt & Whitney) and GE (General Electric) engine options, and various customer options like the engine tape display option.

For users interested in cargo operations, there is the option to switch to a cargo variant, changing the passenger cabin into a cargo hold and adjusting the flight deck and systems accordingly.

Built-in Failures

The simulation also incorporates built-in failures exclusive to the Extended Simulation Package, which introduces random and operational failures to the aircraft's systems. This feature presents unexpected challenges to the pilots and requires quick thinking and problem-solving skills. Partial circuit breaker functionality and a failures management panel are also part of this package, adding a layer of complexity to the troubleshooting process.

Further Information

The TFDi Design MD-11 is an officially licensed product by Boeing. Prices start from $70 for the base pack, with the Extended Simulation Package available for an additional $5. The aircraft is expected to be released in late 2023, but pre-orders are available to guarantee early access.

During the presale and subsequent early access period, all packages are combined into a single Presale Edition for the price of $80 USD.
