Coming as a separate product to the group's existing BN-2 Islander recreation for X-Plane, TorqueSim have announced that the turbine version of the Islander will be releasing this Friday.

"We’re pleased to finally present our rendition of the BN-2T to you," reads a blog post from the developer's website. "What began as a simple conversion grew into a completely new aircraft."

"This is the culmination of efforts spanning nearly four months, including updates to the 3D model, textures, texture mapping, FMOD sound pack, plugins, flight model, and many more small fixes and changes.

"If you enjoyed the BN-2, you’ll find the turbine version an absolute joy to fly!"

In addition to the engine swap, a number of other changes over the BN-2B Islander have been made, with these improvements set to be implemented into the piston Islander in a coming update, v1.2.

There is no timeframe on the release of version 1.2 of the piston Islander as yet.

TorqueSim's BN-2T Islander will be releasing on Friday, January 29th on X-Aviation. Going off previous releases on the store - such as the recent SkyMaxx Pro v5 launch - one potential time for release could be 12pm ET (1700z).
