Large Scale VATSIM Audio Beta Test Happening at FSExpo 2019
The Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network (VATSIM) has announced plans for the first large-scale testing of it's new audio codec, dubbed "Audio for VATSIM" (AFV).
In an email sent to all beta applicants, the AFV roll-out team recap the last three localised test sessions and explain how they're ready for the new software to undergo more strenuous testing, namely with a larger sample size per test.
VATSIM's answer to the requirement of more testers is to green light the Audio for VATSIM at FSExpo event, taking place over two days on June 8 and 9, whilst FSExpo 2019 is happening in Orlando.
Departure airfields include Raleigh, New Orleans, Atlanta and Miami, with all flights headed to Orlando for an action packed stress-test of the new system.
Slot booking for the event opens on June 1 at 1900z.
It's important to note that non-beta VATSIM members are permitted to apply for a slot at this event, and should they receive one, they'll be added to the list of testers up for selection going forward in the beta cycle.
