XFER Design Provides H145 Status Update for X-Plane
December 23, 2020
Developer XFER Design has taken to their Facebook Page to provide users with their “annual Christmas update.”
The developer started their announcement by admitting that this isn’t the type of update they were hoping for at this time; according to the developer, they “hoped that we could look back at a successful release by now, but sadly that is not the case.”
Continuing the announcement, XFER Design provided an insight into how their 2020 went, stating, “We had a good start into 2020, and the H145 made good progress. Completing the biggest work on the 3D model, creating some first test liveries and getting a lot of animations done.” The developer also went on to explain how they “cut the XP10 version to solely focus on X-Plane 11” in October of this year.
Philip Ubben was also added to the development team working on the H145, who’s goal is creating realistic FMOD sounds for the helicopter. The developers have also written “an additional sound plugin and optimized and finalized the flight characteristics over the last weeks.”
Moving on closer to the end of their announcement, an insight into the future was provided from XFER Design, with the developers writing, “We updated our To-Do list which helps us to stay on track, and it is a great feeling to tick more and more items as ‘done.’” The developers also said that most of the items on this list are relatively small and can be dealt with relatively quickly, but have confirmed that there are still larger items on the list, which include a 3D model of the pilot, the creation of “a tablet interface for helicopter customization and finishing the texture work.”
Ending off their announcement, the developers stated that “we can see the finish line, but we still need more time.” They also confirmed that this will be their last development update for 2020 and will keep users updated on the chopper’s progress.
