Visual effects addon xVision has been updated, with news from their website saying the addon is now compatible with the newest X-Plane 11.50 Vulkan beta, which was released just hours ago.

The update does come with a catch, though, with the developer making clear that no shader tweaking functionality is available at this time.

Speaking through the blog post, he says: "In X-Plane 11.50 all shaders are changed so drastically that it requires painstaking work completely from scratch. Not only Vulkan shaders, but old OpenGL shaders that used in previous versions too."

"It means that to support new shaders we need a new product and it seems to be incredibly difficult to devise."

The release notes add to this, saying "some third party solutions from previous version of the tool need re[designing]. Additionally, version 1.50 brings changes in the UI and user manual, as well as some bug fixes.

Installing xVision 1.50 also brings a bit of a change from the previous editions, as this update is only compatible with X-Plane 11.50. This needs a separate installation from other versions, with the developer warning users not to mix the two latest editions. The full installation guide can be found on the xVision website.

xVision can be found for EUR 8.90 on simMarket.
