Welcome back to No Money Monday. This week at Threshold, we are heading to the German city of Hamburg. We will be exploring Hamburg Airport (EDDH) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, created by Chak991. Hamburg Airport, located in and serving the second-largest city in Germany, welcomes around 11 million passengers annually.

Hamburg Airport opened in 1911 and is the oldest international airport still in operation, having been open for 113 years. Initially spanning 45 hectares, it was expanded to 60 hectares in 1913. During World War I, the airport was used by the German military. Following the British occupation in 1945, the airport was renamed Hamburg Airport. Lufthansa began passenger operations there in 1955 but later moved its hub to Frankfurt Airport. Over the years, the airport has seen various airlines, offering numerous destinations. In the early 1990s, the airport underwent extensive modernization, including the construction of a new terminal and pier extension. The renowned Radisson Blu Hotel Hamburg Airport was added in 2009. In 2016, the airport was renamed Hamburg Airport Helmut Schmidt. Today, the airport serves a variety of airlines, including Condor, Eurowings, Ryanair, and Wizz Air, and welcomes 11 million passengers annually, with 110.000 aircraft movements.

Hamburg Airport by Chak991 is packed with features, including custom ground markings, lights, jetways, main terminal, tower, fencing, GSX profile, various custom buildings, and more.
