No Money Mondays: Aéroport Roland Garros by ftsxfreelw

February 24, 2025

Welcome to this week's instalment of No Money Money Mondays! This time, we are taking a trip to the island of La Réunion and the amazing Aéroport Roland Garros (FMEE) created by ftsxfreelw.

Roland Garros Airport opened in November 1929, when Marcel Goulette accomplished the first air link between metropolitan France and Reunion Island. The current airport terminal was opened in 1976 and has undergone two extensions, finished in 2002 and 2015 respectively. Construction of a new arrival terminal began in 2024. A second 3,200-metre-long runway was also opened in 1994 to accommodate larger aircraft.

This freeware scenery contains high-resolution photo tiles as well as conforming ground markings and taxiway lines. The airport’s two runways, 12/30 and 14/32, have been built from scratch for an accurate representation of their crossings.

Currently, seven airlines utilise the airport, including Air Austral, Air France, French Bee, Corsair, and Air Mauritius, operating flights to 13 destinations across the globe.

This incredible scenery is available on flightsim.to, and requires at least 1.07 GB of storage space. If you find yourself craving an exotic long-haul destination or some island hopping, this scenery is a must.
