Welcome to the first installment of No Money Monday this year, and hopefully, the first of many! This time, we are venturing into snowy landscapes. We will be exploring Kittilä Airport (EFKT) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, created by hergi1234. In the past, we have featured one of hergi1234's other sceneries, Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport.

Construction of Kittilä Airport began in 1979, and the terminal building, along with the air traffic control facility, was completed in 1982. The runway was extended in 1985, two years before regular flights to and from Helsinki commenced, initially offering three flights per week. The terminal underwent several expansions in 1990, 1994, 1998, 2001, and 2005. Today, the airport serves approximately 375.000 passengers each year. Kittilä Airport primarily operates seasonal and charter flights to various destinations across Europe, alongside a few regularly scheduled flights.

The freeware version of Kittilä Airport features a custom-modeled terminal building with an apron-side interior, five additional custom buildings, custom runway markings, custom apron markings, custom night lighting, and more.

The free version of Kittilä Airport can be found on flightsim.to. If you want to experience those snowy landscapes before spring arrives, consider making Kittilä your next destination in the simulator!
