New week, new No Money Monday! We are back in Japan this week, visiting Hiroshima Airport. Serving the Hiroshima Prefecture, it had more than 2,650,000 passenger operations and more than 23,000 aircraft operations.
Opened in October 1993, the Hiroshima Airport replaced the old Hiroshima Airport, now named Hiroshima-Nishi. As the old airport was located near the waterfront, it was too small to handle wide-body aircraft and had no space for expansion. In 2001, the runway at the New Hiroshima Airport received a 500m extension, along with an ILS upgrade to CAT-IIIb a couple of years later.
The airport has a single terminal with ten gates, divided into two sections: Domestic and International. Hiroshima Airport currently receives service from 11 airlines, out of which six operate international flights, while the remaining operate exclusively domestic routes.
KAZE’s rendition of Hiroshima Airport for MSFS features custom-modelled terminals, custom runway and taxiway textures, PBR textures, and much more. You can find this amazing freeware on Flightsim.to!
