Welcome back to another edition of No Money Mondays here at Threshold! Today, we’re exploring the German city of Hamburg. Previously, we checked out Hamburg Airport, and now we’re heading to Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport (EDHI). Developed by SimDocks for Microsoft Flight Simulator, this airport is home to one of Airbus’s aircraft manufacturing plants.

In 1933, the shipbuilding company Blohm & Voss decided to expand into aircraft manufacturing, anticipating a rise in demand for airplanes, particularly from the German airline Lufthansa. By 1939, an airfield was established. Although it sustained significant damage during World War II, the airfield was restored and underwent various enhancements. Over the years, after multiple mergers and acquisitions, the airport's facilities came under the umbrella of Airbus. Today, the Airbus section of the airport serves as the final assembly station for the A320 family of aircraft. Additionally, Airbus manufactures various components for both the A330 and A350 models at this location. While the airport does not operate commercial flights, it handles approximately 10 to 15 aircraft movements each day.

The airport's freeware version includes a range of features that enhance the default airport experience. Some of these features are a realistic recreation of the airport layout, custom airport buildings, a variety of realistically placed static aircraft, and much more.

You can download Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport at flightsim.to. Now it's your chance to participate in the delivery of an Airbus aircraft. So, what are you waiting for? Choose one of the planes from the A320 family and be part of the delivery experience yourself!
