It’s that time of the week again, so it’s time for another installment of No Money Mondays here at Threshold! Every week, we feature some of the best freeware the community has to offer! This week, we’re headed to Brazil to feature the work of reichert_bruno, and his rendition of Brasília International Airport!

Brasília’s first airport opened in 1955, when the entire city was still just a project. It consisted of a dirt runway and a makeshift passenger terminal made of Cob and covered in leaves. That location was soon taken down and moved to its current location and construction started in 1956. It originally had a terminal made of wood, but it was then renovated in the early 1990’s. In the mid 2010’s, Brasília had a whole host of new renovations to its taxiways and terminals for events such as the FIFA 2014 World Cup, and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Today, Brasília International Airport serves over 50 different destinations around Brazil and the world, being served mostly by LATAM Brazil and GOL.

The in-sim rendition includes many features, such as:

  • FPS friendly
  • Detailed and custom terminals and hangars
  • Custom night lighting
  • Custom apron lights and hangar lights
  • Extensive use of PBR materials
  • 4K and 8K textures
  • Detailed ground textures with custom painted lines and markings
  • Correct runway altitude and slope
  • Terraforming near 29L and taxiway bridges

You can pick this amazing scenery up on flightsim.to.

Be sure to stay tuned to Threshold next week to see where the freeware fun heads to next!
